Our Wai is a tailored river monitoring tool for New Zealand farmers, offering accessible current and historical water quality data in their catchment areas. This innovative solution not only provides data but also delivers customized solutions for individual challenges. With a user-friendly interface, farmers of all IT literacy levels can harness invaluable insights, empowering sustainable water management.
Our target personas covered both IT-savvy individuals and IT beginners. To cater to this diverse audience, we designed a straightforward workflow that guides users through the information collection process. The initial step, deliberately kept uncomplicated, involves users simply adding their own address. This approach aims to build users' confidence right from the start.
After entering the farm address, users are presented with a map view to confirm the correct property. Users can add additional properties by entering more addresses or clicking on the map.
We correlate user-provided information with data from river quality monitoring stations. This matching process guides farmers, offering specific recommendations to address water quality issues in their catchment areas.
Working from excellent user interview data that was collected before I joined the project, I identified and prioritized key user challenges. This approach allowed our team to focus on essential changes and fixes, enhancing the product's alignment with user needs. The affinity grouping showcased here visually represents my analysis, enabling clear communication with the broader business, justifying our focus.
